Department’s Achivements
CSE Students Won First place in Dell EMC Competition for the Second Time
In November 2018, CSE department students Aisha Morshid Al-Mohannadi, Asma Abdo M S AL-Oodani, and Mzna Ali AL-Saaq
have won the first place in the Dell EMC Envision the Future 2018 for the Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) region. There
were over 329 project submissions by more than 1,450 senior undergraduate students, representing more than 70 universities in
18 countries in the region.
The students participated with their project titled “Hardening Fingerprint Authentication System Using Intel's SGX Enclave
Technology” supervised by Prof. Qutaibah Malluhi. The project aims at protecting sensitive personal data by developing a secure
identification system, using the fingerprint as an example of biometrics. The project develops innovative technology that uses Intel’s
software guard extensions for protecting biometrics data and being processed inside the processor.
This is the second time in which our CSE students win such award; the first was in 2017. Very proud of our students!
