CSE Alumni Winning in CyberStars Competition, 2018
In October 2018, Eng. Muath Mushtaha (CSE alumni) won in the arab regional CyberStars competition 2018 for the category of
(Defender), and Eng.Jassim Al-Saadi won in the same competition for the category (Attacker). The journey of identifying the Arab
Regional Cyberstars Competition 2018-Threat Hunter Edition has been an interesting one; several countries took part in this
competition to identify and forge the next Cyber Security Professionals. The competition targeted university students aged 18-
24.The regional finals were held on 11th October 2018 where the winners in each category from various Arab countries (Oman,
Qatar, Kuwait, Libya, Tunisia, Palestine, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria among others) took part. The competition tested participants in
three categories; ethical hacking, computer forensics,intrusion detection, and security monitoring. The department is proud of Eng.
Muath and Eng. Jassim, and would like to congratulate them on this great achievement!
