Yes, indeed. In the long run, Qatar National Vision 2030’s aim is to develop Qatar to be an information-based economy, and we
know that Technology plays a pivotal role in achieving this. Therefore, having more CSE graduates is crucial to develop this
economy. The technology market industry needs more computer engineers, computer scientists, developers, network
architectures, academics, security evangelists and researchers as well as entrepreneurs and business investors in the technology
field.
D
id you find what you studied helpful when you went to work? Give us some examples
Most of the courses in my specialization were very helpful in my career. Cybersecurity essentials involve understanding operating
systems, networks, data structure, and basics of object orientation and programming. I believe that understanding such
fundamentals in depth make a graduate’s professional life easier. In addition to the curriculum, I believe the experience that a
graduate gains in the Engineering College of Qatar University is definitely helpful in their career. The experience enriches the
student’s life, introducing skills and competencies, in technical terms as well as project management, time management, and
problem-solving terms.

ell us about your most exciting experience you had during your studies
The senior project experience was the most exciting experience for me. My friends and I spent one year developing a project from
scratch, right from choosing the topic, improving the idea, and localizing it. We went through many phases, many challenges,
several ups and downs until we succeeded.
T
ell us about one of the funny things that happened to you while in QU
To narrate one funny incident is quite difficult as I had many funny moments with my friends and colleagues during my studies. It
turned out that the tougher the moments, the funnier things became, especially when we had our senior projects. I cannot forget
the day we presented our senior project. Our group was the first team to present and we had to meet very early to do the final
rehearsal. It just so happened that we were so early that to our surprise, we reached the university gates even before they opened,
and so we started our rehearsals in one of our friend’s car. Such memories bring back smiles and laughs; it makes me think about
how serious we were and how I have never regretted being so. This is always reflected later on in a student’s life and career
success.
T
ell us more about the achievements you had while you were a student.
I was awarded the Dean’s List multiple times and was one of the top GPA students in my batch. I also had the honor of receiving
the Academic Excellence Award with the golden ribbon received by H.H Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani.
Academic achievements are unique, but also having such great experiences with my colleagues, friends, and instructors during
the years I had studied at Qatar University is a blessing.

o you have any advice or a message to tell newly enrolled students in CSE?
Work hard and with passion; this is what I recommend CSE students to do. I understand that there will be some tough times that
any student would face, but such moments mold a student and makes all the difference to the student’s future. The technology
field is very exciting, dynamic, and not boring at all. In addition, it is essential in many innovations all around the world. Such
characteristics should be an influence on a student of CSE i.e. to be enthusiastic, innovative and to always recognize the big
picture and where they contribute to it.
