Registration guidelines for undergraduate (UG) and Foundation Program courses

Students who are exempted or have passed certain foundation courses can register in undergraduate

(UG) courses.

• Students registered in BOTH Elementary Algebra and at least one English language course cannot

register in UG courses.

• Students who have finished their English courses or were exempted from them and have only the

Math course can register for 9 UG credit hours.

• The priority in registration is for foundation courses not UG courses.

• UG courses should be chosen in consultation with the Academic Advisor as per the study plan.

• Which courses do I register in? Students will be informed by the academic advisor about their

placement in courses during New Student Orientation Days (NSO). Students must register themselves in

the courses into which they are placed in.

How can I succeed in the Foundation Program?

Acquiring skills:

Focus on learning new skills, not just completing a test or course.

Teacher office hours:

Talk to your teachers about any questions and concerns during office hours.

Time Management:

Manage your time wisely to complete assignments on time. To learn about time

management, attend workshops given by the Success Zone and the Student Learning Support Center.

Attendance:

Attend every class and do not be late to avoid getting barred and failing the course.

Checking

:

Frequently check your university email and Blackboard (Bb) for current information

on workshops, events and services.

Success Zone:

Visit and ask for help from the Success Zone to help enhance your English and math

skills and improve your assignments before submitting them. Attend midterm and final exam revision

sessions to improve your grades. Email:
