Adoption of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in Construction in Qatar University

“This course enables participants to develop an understanding of the strategies for adoption of BIM in Qatar and The Gulf region

construction industry.

The course key topic area includes, introduction to current practices of BIM adoption in construction industry in Qatar,

integrated project delivery, opportunities in Qatar, employer information requirements, contractual arrangements and potential

for improvements to enable successful adoption, BIM execution strategy, and BIM execution plan.

BIM in contracts

This course is for all personnel involved in project bidding, project scoping or understanding the Scope of Works and decipher

the complex BIM terminologies in the Contract documents.

ArchiCAD for Beginners

This course will enable the attendees to start using ArchiCAD as their BIM authoring platform.

BIM Project Setup

This course involves both theory and practical and is tailored for personnel directly involved in the authoring of BIM data and

model. This will focus on step by step procedure to decipher information from EIR and prepare the whole strategy to initiate

the work in BIM environment while remaining conscious for other project stakeholders such as Quantity Surveyors, LEED

Professional and Contractors.

BIM in Cloud

This course establishes the knowledgebase for advanced technologies which are in use for BIM based project collaboration.

Objective is to present the technologies in various forms and configuration which enables cloud based collaboration on BIM

Mandated Projects.

Revit for Beginners

This course will enable the attendees to start using Revit as their BIM authoring platform.

IP issues in BIM

This course elaborates on the intellectual property that is generated when companies and individuals create material for BIM,

and the relative issues such as confidentiality and privacy.

Legal Implications of BIM

This course distinguishes the liabilities and risks that arise when BIM is incorporated into the contractual framework of a project.
