15th international wireless communications and mobile computing confrence
In June 2019, Dr. Lamiaa Basyoni, Dr. Aiman Erbad, Dr. Noora Fetais and Dr. Moshen Guizanithe represented Qatar
University in the International Wireless Communications & Mobile Computing confrence in Tangier, Morocco. The theme of
this conference was “Connecting to the IoT”. In this conference, this team won a best paper award for their paper “Empirical
Performance Evaluation of QUIC Protocol for Tor Anonymity Network”. In this paper, the team purposed “QuicTor” to help
eliminate problems affecting the performance of the Tor network as the current design of its transport layer was lacking.
“QuicTor” would replace the current use of TCP to Googles protocol “QUIC”.
