Social & Economic Survey Research
Institute (SESRI)
SESRI was established in October 2008 with
enthusiastic support from QU leadership where
it falls directly under the O ce of the President.
The Institute’s mission is to provide sound and
reliable data to guide policy formulation, priority
setting and evidence-based planning in the
social and economic sectors. Its research
interests span all issues of importance to Qatari
society such as labor and employment,
modernization and shifts in social values,
education, health, family structure, and media
impact.
Continuing education courses o ered by the
Institute include:
• Research Design & Introductory to Statistical
Analysis
• Introduction to Sampling
Research Design & Introductory to Statistical
Analysis:
Designed for senior QU students, faculty
members, researchers from governmental and
non-governmental organizations and various
professionals who use survey data. Participants
will be introduced to survey research design
methods and statistical analysis in an intensive
practical multi-session workshop.
Introduction to Sampling:
Introduces participants to survey sampling
methods and principles in an intensive practical
multi-session training workshop. Basic sampling
techniques such as simple random sampling,
systematic sampling, strati cation, cluster
sampling, and probability proportional to size
selection will also be examined.
