The College of Business and Economics is
accredited by the Association to Advance
Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The
College was established in 1985 to provide
high-quality, applied business education in a
collegial, intellectually-stimulating and
supportive learning and working environment.
Continuing education courses o ered by the
College are:
• Accounting for Non-Accountants
• Principles of Business Administration
• Feasibility Study and Project Evaluation
• Analyzing Financial Statements for Qatari firms
using Microsoft Excel
• Managerial Accounting
• International Financial Reporting Standards
Accounting for Non-Accountants:
Familiarizes participants with basic accounting
terminology and introduces them to accounting
financial statements and basic accounting rules
such as recording, classifying and
communicating financial information.
Principles of Business Administration:
Designed to improve participants’ personal,
managerial, and organizational skills and to
orient them on existing leadership styles.
Participants will learn new motivating
techniques to make employees more e ective
in making decisions, writing reports, and
managing work teams. The di erence between
the importance of companies’ social obligation
and social responsibility principles, values, and
ethics will be explained as well as how to deal with a
diverse workforce, using real-life examples.
Feasibility Study and Project Evaluation:
Participants will learn about the important issues for
business success and evaluate the viability of a business
project by examining the technical, economical and
operational systems and schedules.
Managerial Accounting:
Provides an introduction to management accounting as it
applies to the use of accounting information in planning
and controlling business operations. Participants are
introduced to cost terms, cost behavior,
cost-volume-profit analysis, variable costing, and
budgeting.
International Financial Reporting Standards:
Provides an overview of the recent changes to the
International Accounting Standards (IAS). It discusses the
new standards issued by the International Accounting
Standards Board, and looks at the recent updates on
IAS/IFRS.
