The O ce provides certi cation programs in Human
Resources such as the Chartered Institute of Personnel
and Development (CIPD), Society for Human Resources
Management (SHRM) and Internet Computer Driving
License (ICDL).
Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development:
CIPD certi cation training at QU helps learners obtain
an international professional quali cation in HR.
The training program includes four sessions:
• Introduction: Developing yourself as an Effective HR
practitioner
• Recording, Using and Analyzing HR Information:
Understanding Organizations and the role of HR
• Contributing to the Process of Job Analysis:
Resourcing Talent
• Supporting Good Practice in Performance and Reward
Management: Supporting Change in Organizations
Society for Human Resource Management:
Conducted by a highly-quali ed and accomplished
human resources instructor, this course will shed light
on the most pressing issues in HR in the international
and local arena. Participants will earn a certificate from
the Society of Human Resources Management USA, the
largest association for HR management.
The course addresses six key areas:

• Employment Law in Qatar
• Effective Recruitment and Selection Techniques
• Basis of Compensation and Benefits
• Orienting and Training Your Employees
• Ensuring Quality Performance
Internet Computer Driving License
The ICDL training and testing center at Qatar University
offers well-designed and highly-effective training
courses conducted by QU highly- qualified staff. ICDL
training and certi cation covers Version 5 of ICDL
syllabus thereby ensuring a comprehensive coverage of
all IT skills needed for professional certification which is
internationally- recognized and approved by
international bodies -- ECDL/ICDL and UNESCO.
ICDL training and testing includes:
Module 1: Basic concepts of Information Technology
Module 2: Using the Computer and Managing Files
Module 3: Word Processing
Module 4: Spreadsheets
Module 5: Database
Module 6: Presentation
Module 7: Information and Communication
ICDL certification will be awarded upon successful
completion of nal test of all 7 modules.
